Adam Bernstein, Managing Partner, has been with NEC for 11 years, and has led transactions in the renewable power, fuels, wastewater, and waste to energy sectors. Prior to joining NEC, Adam managed valuation and project finance analysis on over 2,000 megawatts of power generation at FPL Energy (currently NextEra Energy), one of the largest electricity operators in North America. His responsibilities at FPL Energy included structuring tax-equity transactions and portfolio syndications, with a focus on wind projects. Before FPL, Adam was an Associate at J.P. Morgan Securities, researching and executing equity, fixed income, and derivative transactions. Adam began his career at GE Capital Commercial Finance analyzing asset-based loans and securitizations, and has also worked on the Goldman Sachs commodities trading desk. Adam is a CFA Charterholder and holds degrees from Dartmouth (MBA, MS in Engineering), and Emory (BBA). He is a frequent guest lecturer at Dartmouth College’s graduate schools, and while at NEC, Adam was selected by the Federal Department of Energy to independently review Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy grant applications.
