Fred Zelaya is a Director in MUFG’s Project Finance Group in New York where he is responsible for originating and structuring financings for renewable and conventional power projects in North America. He has over 20 years of project finance experience in Europe and the Americas. Since joining MUFG in 2008, Fred has closed 78 project financings representing over $27 billion of total debt.
Fred’s most recent Lead Arranger transactions include Silver State Solar, Henvey Inlet Wind, McCoy Solar, Compass Power Generation, Cornerstone Gas, Dominion Solar Projects III, SBL Solar, Roadrunner Solar, Blythe Solar, Tsuga Pines Wind, Green Racer Wind, Emerald State Solar, Cedar Point II/East Durham Wind, SDB Wind, CED-3 Solar, CED California Solar, Cedar Creek II Wind, Heartland I Wind, Heartland II Wind, Mehoopany Wind, Electra Wind, CED Alamo 7 Solar, and Southgate Solar.
Fred previously held utilities and project finance positions at Bank of America and Moody’s Investors Service. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
