Prashant Mupparapu is Senior Managing Director in Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets division, based in New York. He leads the Commodity Solutions group, which provides asset based loans, project finance, mezzanine debt and off-balance sheet commodity financing. In addition, we offer a full suite of risk management/hedging products to enhance our bespoke private lending solutions.
Prashant has over 20 years of experience providing financing and risk management solutions in the Energy, Commodities and Industrial sectors. He leverages expertise in commodities and project finance to provide flexible funding solutions in partnership with senior management and sponsors.
Previously at Credit Suisse, he worked on several leverage finance transactions in the merchant energy sector, providing capital and hedging solutions. Prior to that, Prashant worked at Booz Allen Hamilton and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he provided strategic advice to major Fortune 500 companies in the merchant energy, and utility sectors.
Mr. Mupparapu received a Masters of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was conferred the Stern Scholar Award and recipient of the Hans A. Vogelstein alumni scholarship. He has a Masters in Science in Oceanography from University of New Hampshire/Dartmouth College. Previously, he received a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Prior to his career in the financial sector, Prashant worked as a consultant at Woods Hole Group, advising companies on quantifying and mitigating operational risk in the marine environment. Prior to business school, he founded and sold a marine communications company, which developed a device for intelligent oceanographic data collection. He holds a patent for a wave-powered sea-water pump for use in aquaculture farms.
